Math is a great foundation for everything. Consider Google, for example, all they do is code and play around with math. So do many web-based companies such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Whatsapp, and other technology companies such as M-Pesa and even mobile games, Play Stations and not to forget all the animations and other cartoon and movies we love watching. In essence, Code is math as one cannot do code without math. The best part is, when you learn to code, you can easily learn math.

Things you love are made with code. More and more aspects of our lives are powered by technology today. It’s not just online, it’s even in cars today, computers, mobile phones and even tech-based companies that have made life easier. For instance, Just Water, a tech-based water company, co-founded by Jaden Smith, Will Smith’s son, uses code to keep the factory and machines running.

A while back, to make cars, all it took was a mechanical engineer. Today, most vehicles are full of vehicle components that are computer-controlled hence need coders. You will find dozens of electronic control modules in a basic car model and even more in a luxury one.

Electronics power the touch screens on the console for seamless communication between the car and the world outside. Surround-view cameras and radar sensors cooperate with the braking systems to keep us safe on the roads. Some cars can even park themselves. Others come with Google Map’s direction so that you don’t get lost.

Then we have M-Pesa and other mobile-based tech inventions. We will use M-Pesa because it’s one, Kenyan, and two, it has revolutionized the ease of access to money today. Long ago, before M-Pesa (BM), you could only transact via a bank. You could not send money to a relative or friend and even a business in a fast and safe way. It was not possible to save unless it is in a bank account which was tedious to open with complicated terms and conditions or under your mattress. When M-Pesa started, all these were made possible. To keep up with an increasing number of customers and to make it easier for anyone to use, whether literate or illiterate, coding is increasingly being by the developers. M-Pesa has become a global hit as every single country tries to copy it. But with M-Pesa, it is all in its unique code.
